Impact of Large-Scale Mobile Electric Vehicle Charging in Smart Grids: A Reliability Perspective

The charging load of electric vehicles (EVs) is characterized by uncertainty and flexibility, which burdens the distribution network, especially when there a high penetration distributed generation (DG) in smart grids. Large-scale EV mobility integration not only affects grid operation reliability but also services. This paper aims at estimating comprehensive impacts caused spatial-temporal from perspective both electricity system service reliability. First, index system, including two novel indexes quantifying reliability, proposed. Then, considering traffic constraints users’ willingness, model introduced. In coupled transportation framework, plenty factors are analyzed. Moreover, correlated with DG discussed. A adopted to demonstrate effectiveness practicability proposed method. numerical results analyze level, trip chain, battery capacity, installation location, capacity. studies reveal that capacity ratio 3:1, reaches maximum level.
